Pine Bros. Throat Drops Review

Is it just me or is everyone sick lately? Thankfully I've been lucky so far, or maybe it's just my overly judicious use of hand sanitizer. A few weeks ago after New Years I woke up with a scratchy throat and realized it would be the perfect time to try out a few of the new Pine Bros. Throat Drops that I had been sent. Right away I noticed several unique things that I loved about them-they are one of the few cough drops on the market that are soft in texture (the soft, chewy drops melt in your mouth to coat your throat), and they don't have that gross medicinal menthol taste. Pine Bros. cough drops use a combination of glycerin and honey to moisturize and soothe dry, scratchy throats. My favorite so far is the Honey-it tastes like a small drop of honey on your tongue yet works so quickly to ease discomfort. I'm also a fan of the Wild Cherry, and two more flavors (Lemon Citrus and Licorice) should be available shortly.

I love that they are available in both bags and ultra-portable pucks, the perfect size round containers to toss in a purse, desk or gym bag. I literally haven't been without mine since I got them-it's like having a soothing mug of tea with honey everywhere I go. My family and friends have been snatching them up as well, even the ones who aren't typically cough drop fans. I will definitely continue to use these and will be stocking up after I run out!

Purex UltraPacks Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review the new Purex Ultrapacks, pre-dosed liquid detergent packs that you just toss into the washing machine without the hassle of messy powders or heavy jugs. All I can say is wow! These little packets pack a heavy punch when it comes to cleaning power. I was amazed when my laundry came out perfectly fresh and clean, even in cold water. I was impressed that even the several pairs of muddy jeans I had in the load came out looking great. Just one packet is enough to do a full load of laundry. Add the packet before you add your clothes to the machine to give it plenty of time to dissolve. If you have a front loading washing machine, make sure to add the packet to the drum and not the drawer. The packets dissolve completely and the low-sudsing formula rinses completely clean. It will be available in February of 2010 in Mountain Breeze scent and Free and Clear (which is free of any perfumes or dyes), and is safe to use in conventional and HE washing machines. They come in a resealable bag that's very easy to store. Anything that makes laundry time a little less daunting is speaking my language!

*Purex provided a free sample of their Ultra Packs laundry detergent so I could write a review. However, all of the opinions expressed are my own.
